Next, you should pay attention to your intake of fruits and vegetables. They’re rich in a unique vitamin-mineral complex that cannot be gotten anywhere else. They also have rich fiber contents which helps improve gut activity and boost the metabolic processes that take place in the body.
So what fruits should I go for if I want glowing skin?

Fruits for Glowing skin;

1. Bananas

Everybody loves bananas. It tastes good and has a lot of wonderful skin benefits. It is rich in amino acids, which improves the elasticity of the skin. It also contains zinc, active in combating bacterial infection and preventing the acne. Its potassium content keeps the skin hydrated.
Apart from eating it, you could use its peels (yes, those ones you’ve been throwing away). You could rub the insides of the peel on your skin, you’ll find that your skin glows after regular use.

2. Watermelon

Watermelon is a refreshing fruit with an usually high water content. Its high water content means that it possesses astringent properties that helps tone the skin and transforms dull skin into a beauty. You can use a slice of watermelon to cleanse your face after a long day. It helps reduce aging signs as a result of its carotene content and is also known to protect your body skin from blisters if applied regularly.

3. Papaya

Papaya has been known to solve pigmentation problems when used daily. It also helps smoothen rough skin, leaving the skin looking soft, supple and smooth to touch. They not only lighten and make the skin glow, they also helps protect the skin from tanning. It is also effective in getting rid of disease causing microbes and excess oils.

6. Lemon

Lemons naturally bleach the skin. They have a vitamin C content, an antioxidant that helps get rid of toxins and protects the skin from hyperpigmentation and photodamage. Therefore, lemon is the way to go if you have keratinization, acne scars, uneven pigmentation and dark spots.
To use, add juice half a lemon and add a teaspoon of hone (organic) to the juice. Add a glass of water to the mix and drink it early in the morning to get rid of toxins. You could add its juice to your salad or mix with rose water to get rid of acne scars or pigmentation. To use the lemon juice and rose water mix, use a clean cloth to dab some of it on your skin. Leave it on for ten minutes before rinsing off. It will also help control your oily skin.
If your skin is dryer and has pigmentation problems, you could mix lemon juice with coconut oil too and dab on your skin, leave for ten minutes and then rinse off.
For dark circles, mix a teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of milk together and apply under your eyes. Leave it on for ten minutes before gently rinsing off. For keratinization, mix a little bit of lemon and sugar together to reduce keratinization and lighten skin tone.

Avocado

Avocado is rich in healthy fat, dietary fibre, pantothenic acid, niacin, folate, vitamins A, C, E and K. Its antioxidant properties help protect the skin from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Eating avocado regularly will promote healthy aging thanks to its high lutein and zeaxanthin content which protects the skin the ultraviolet radiation. As a result of its health fat, the elasticity of the skin is retained, inflammation is reduced and wounds heal speedily.
There are various ways you can use the avocado for your skin. Here are a few ways :
• Add to your salads, wraps, sandwiches, breakfast bowl and burritos.

• You can use it in cakes or as toppings
• If you want to use topically, you can mash and simply apply. Leave it for at least ten minutes before rinsing off.
• If your skin is oily, you could mash a small piece with rose water and add a little camphor. Apply on your skin as a mask and rinse off after ten minutes.

Pineapple

Pineapple is a sweet fruit that is rich in fibre, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and vitamins They contain bromelain, an enzyme with healing, anti-inflammatory, anticancer properties. When you apply pineapple on human skin that has been burnt, the dead skin cells come off and the process of healing speeds up.
To get the benefits of pineapple, you could consume for breakfast or even as an evening snack.
You could also mix with spinach, cilantro, pomegranate or cucumber to get a delicious salad.
You could add to your dessert, stews, wraps, pizza, etc.
To use, mix some pineapple juice with a teaspoon milk and apply topically to your skin. Leave for ten minutes and then gently wash off.
