Don’t worry about your urine and stool being red the next day, it’s the result from digesting beets.

Apples When You Don’t Have a Toothbrush Handy

Apples, even though they are high in sugar are often referred to as “nature’s toothbrushes “. They help clean the places in the mouth that are often hard to reach.
It’s crunchy and crispy nature makes it the best remedy to help act as an abrasive for lifting stains from the teeth and give the illusion that they are whiter. This function makes apples nature’s cheapest and most effective teeth whiteners.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Sunburns

As long as you don’t mind smelling of vinegar for a while, you should be fine using this as it is effective. If you have a sunburn, take a cool shower, dry your body afterwards and then apply some unfiltered apple cider vinegar generously over your skin, paying special attention to the sunburned parts. To apply, you can use a cotton square.
After using the apple cider vinegar, you can follow up the treatment by applying a mixture of aloe mixed with a few drops of lavender. This will help soothe your skin and give you a nice aroma. That way, you don’t have to be so self-conscious about the vinegar smell.

Ginger for Motion Sickness

According to a study in Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, it was found that ginger has a potency in effectively reducing nausea, vasopressin release induced by circular vection and tachygastric activity.
Therefore, ginger is an effective home remedy in preventing or controlling motion sickness. To use, simply steep some ginger in boiling water for ten minutes. Afterwards, strain and drink, with or without flavour.
That way, on your next flight or car trip, you don’t have to be uncomfortable.

Baking Soda and Cranberry Juice for UTIs

It is thought that the baking soda’s alkaline properties have the ability to reduce the bacteria’s multiplication ability in the bladder. Combined with a cranberry juice regimen, it should be easy for you to manage a Urinary tract infection with no problems at all.
At the first sign of a UTI, drink the solution made by mixing a quarter of baking soda in eight ounces of water. Follow that with two glasses of cranberry juice. Do this two times a day till the symptoms get better.

Water bottle (frozen) for Sore Tootsies

This remedy is often used by physical therapists. Simply roll your feet over a bottle of frozen water as it does wonders for sore feet. Whether you wear high heels or flats everyday, ice therapy (cryotherapy) reduces inflammation, helps foot muscles regain proper range of motion and decreases pain.
Lots of athletes use this remedy after a game to help recover from the pains and aches.

Duct Tape for Poison Ivy

Of course it’s weird to hear that a duct tape can be useful in healing warts. However, it’s actually been proven than covering warts with duct tape gets rid of them faster and more effectively compared to freezing methods.
Duct tapes are that useful because they contain a chemical that suffocates and kills off warts.
Did you also know that duct tape is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of poison ivy? This same wart principles apply, but in case of the poison ivy, the duct tape actually helps “suck” the urushiol (the oil in the poison ivy that people are allergic to) out of the skin. Simply tear a small piece of duct tape and place over each blister or red spot as soon as you suspect a problem.
Make sure you start by washing the affected area first and then reapply the tape at least once a day. Doing this will help prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of the body and will cushion the sore spot in case you bump up against a hard surface.
