Most times, you wake up in the morning and you realize that your mood is ruined for a reason you probably don’t know and you can’t help this sour mood.
Now picture yourself getting up early on a day you are supposed to be at work. Light is not really out, and you’re very comfortable covered in your duvet but you know you somehow have to get up and get ready for your daily morning routine. Irrespective of how heart rending thinking about this may be, even for the morning people, there are ways you can wake up even on the much dreaded Monday morning and it won’t be as ugly as it sounds and you might even start looking forward to Monday mornings.
Here are some tips that can help give you a positive outlook towards your morning

Tips to help you wake up feeling happy.

Have breakfast

Sometimes, when you are hurrying to meet up with the limited time available in the morning, you tend to skip your breakfast or even when you have breakfast, it’s not a healthy one.
What you don’t know is that indulging in a nice breakfast can help boost your energy and mood and give you something to look forward to in the morning.

Put on some music.

Studies and personal experience has shown that nothing can put you in a better place than your favorite song. So, while you are getting ready to go to work or do your morning routine, jam to your favorite song, you can even dance a little to get your blood pumping.
Stay away from social media and the news.
Seeing things we don’t like on the news or social media can put us in a bad mood for the rest of the day, so put down your phone and turn off your tv so that you can focus your early morning energy on getting yourself out the door.

Sleep with your curtains half open.

Before you go to sleep at night, make sure that while you close your curtains and blinds, that you leave a little place open for sunlight. A little sunlight can go a long way. In addition to being a natural mood booster, waking up to natural light will make it easier for your body to snap out of that deep sleep when your alarm goes off.

Clean your room the night before

Clean rooms are therapeutic. They leave you less stressed and ready to weather any element the day has for you. If you can, get all those little tasks like (picking out your work clothes, polishing your shoes, and cleaning your room) done before morning to avoid unnecessary stress when you wake up.

Sleep on your right side.

Studies have found that sleeping on your right side has a lot of benefits, like you wake up energized and tend to have more soothing dream.

Stretch

When you stretch ,your blood gets flowing, thereby enabling the release of endorphins. That way, you start your morning in a relaxed mood for a less stressful day later. You just need to take few minutes off your morning and stretch your muscles.

Meditate.

Meditation is another thing that will help you relax while also putting you more in tune with your body and your surroundings. Not only will it instantly put you in a better state of mind, making meditation part of your daily routine has major long term benefits, too.

Play with your pet.

It’s pretty much impossible not to be happy while playing with your pet. They’ll get the attention they want, and you’ll get the good mood you want – it’s a win-win for everyone. If you don’t have a pet, try watching something like funny animal videos. (Good luck avoiding a good moo after a few of these.)

Take time to think.

One of the ways to get rid of your sour mood is to think of all the reasons to be happy and a few reasons why you should be grateful. The beautiful thing about this is that you can do it anywhere. Be it in the shower, while you’re still in bed or on your way to work. It really changes your outlook towards a lot of things.

Wake up to bright colors.

Add a bright throw pillow or blanket to your bed or hang a brightly colored piece of art somewhere in your room. Looking at it when you first wake up will stimulate your senses, which boosts your mood in return. And you can never have too many throw pillows, really.

Stay hydrated.

First thing you should do when you wake up is drink a cup of water.
Though most people find this very difficult to do, but waking up and taking a glass of water keeps your hydrated since you didn’t drink anyone while you were sleeping throughout the night. This helps keep you energized throughout the day.

Get more sleep.

You might not realize it, but getting at least an hour sleep earlier will help boost your mood a lot when you wake up in the morning. You might not exactly fall asleep immediately, but you will certainly sleep earlier than normal, and you know every minute is important.

Don’t hit snooze.

Snoozing the alarm will only put off the inevitable, so don’t make getting up even harder on yourself. Rip of the band aid and get up on the first ring, and you’ll be less groggy during your morning routine.

Get inspired.

Whatever it is that gets you inspired ,be it looking at a motivational quote or a beautiful art piece or reading an article, when you start your day inspired, a good feeling and a feeling of motivation definitely follows.

Smile.

Irrespective of what it is that bothers you, smiling can help you in ways you might not know. Smile even if the weather is bad and it’s a Monday. Smile even if you absolutely loath mornings. You know what they say, fake it ’til you make it.
