In this article, we’re going to show you how to make a special beauty product, one that is often used twice a day to cleanse the face – facial cleansers! Because of how regularly you use facial cleansers, it’s best to make sure you’re not using one that contains harmful chemicals that could leave your skin inflamed. Making your own facial cleanser will not take so much and you’ll be using nourishing ingredients.
DIY Homemade Facial Cleansers

Coconut Oil and Honey Facial Cleanser

This cleanser is great for sensitive skin.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Three tablespoons of organic extra virgin coconut oil
• One teaspoon of raw honey
• One teaspoon of baking soda
• A small container with a lid
The organic coconut oil will help moisturize the skin, slow down aging and get rid of makeup. Honey soothes the skin and helps gets rid of bacteria with its antibacterial properties.

Here’s what you should do:

• Place the coconut oil in a clean bowl and stir. If it’s hard, heat up the spoon a bit in hot water, dry it up and stir the oil with it till it melts.
• Add the honey and stir well
• Next, add your baking soda and keep stirring
• Pour into the clean container and store at room temperature
• If it hardens, it will melt when applied onto the skin as a result of the heat from the body.

To use :

• Take a clean spatial and scoop out a tiny amount
• Apply it onto the face and neck and move your fingers gently in circular motion to exfoliate
• Let it set for a minute and draw out toxins
• Rinse off with warm water and a clean wash cloth
• Although this may not be entirely necessary but you could apply a little afterwards.

Honey and Lemon Facial Cleanser

This face wash helps balance oily skin and control the skin’s oil production.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• One tablespoon of honey
• Half a lemon

Here’s what you should do:

• Squeeze the juice from half of a lemon into a small bowl with one tablespoon of honey.
• Add a tiny amount of water to make it lighter
• Mix the ingredients up and spread all over your face with your clean hands or a cotton ball.
• Leave for a while before rinsing off with warm water.

Olive and Essential Oil Facial Cleanser

This wash is beneficial to dry skinned individuals as it helps provide moisture to the skin.
Simply mix in extra virgin oil and your favourite essential oil. Slather across your face and rinse off with warm water.

Calendula Facial Cleanser

This is a deep cleaning and natural homemade cleanser. It is one of the best face cleansers and contains fresh calendula heads, which have very soothing and healing properties. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Six fresh calendula heads (you could use the dried calendula flowers as an alternative)
• Three tablespoons of Cocoa butter
• 175ml of olive oil

Here’s what you should do:

• Start by placing the calendula heads, olive oil and Cocoa butter in a saucepan
• Let the cocoa butter melt into the olive oil over a low heat. This will take about five minutes.
• After it is melted, strain the mixture into a fresh bowl and beat until it is cool
• Pour the mixture into a sterile container with a snug fitting lid
• Using your finger tips, slather some on your skin, gently massaging. Pay special attention to the cheek areas are often prone to dryness.
• Afterwards, soak a cotton ball or tissue in water and gently wipe off.

Apple Cider Vinegar Face Wash

If your skin is breaking out or is prone to breakouts, this face wash will do wonders for you. Don’t use this so frequently and vigorously, because it could dry out your skin.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
• One drop of castile soap
• Warm water

Here’s what you should do:

• Simply mix all the ingredients together and use on your face
• Rinse off afterwards and moisturize if you need to.

Rice and Milk Facial Cleanser

This cleanser has anti-aging properties. The creaminess is good for hydrating aging skin and the rice flour does not easily dissolve, thus soothing and exfoliating the skin.The rice flour also possesses anti-inflammatory properties that is great for people with sensitive skin.
The rice milk provides vitamin A and calcium.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Three tablespoons of organic rice milk
• Half a cup of brown rice flour

Here’s what you should do:

• Mix the milk and flour together thoroughly till you get a consistent paste
• Apply gently on your skin and then rinse off afterwards with warm water.

Almond, Rice and Dry Milk Facial Cleanser

Starting your day exfoliating with this cleanser will leave your skin healthy. The oil in the almond provides vitamins A and E while the dry milk contains lactic acid that moisturizers dry skin and exfoliates.
These ingredients nourishes and hydrates the skin. The grains are useful for exfoliation while the milk moisturizes.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Three almonds
• Two tablespoons of uncooked rice grains
• A teaspoon of dry milk powder

Here’s what you should do:

• Start by grinding the almond and uncooked rice together. Keep doing that until you get a fine powder
• Next add in a teaspoon of dry milk powder. We recommend going for a full-fat milk as it’s ideal for dry skin and anti-aging.
• Keep the ingredients in a container with a lid. It has a shelf-life of two weeks

To use :

• Mix a pinch of the powder with rose water or plain water and form a paste.
• With the paste, massage your face gently, not leaving out your neck and chest.
• Rinse afterwards
• You can apply your toner and moisturizer after that.
