Low blood pressure is a health condition in which an individual’s blood pressure drops so much that it leads to symptoms like clammy skin, dizziness, fainting, cold, palpitations, fatigue, nausea, blurred visions, difficulty breathing, etc. This condition is medically referred to as hypotension.
People who have an ideal weight and are healthy and physically active have a blood pressure reading that is much lower than what is considered normal at 120/80 mm Hg. This isn’t an unhealthy thing, especially if they do not experience any symptoms whatsoever.
However, when your blood pressure readings remain around 90/60 mm Hg or even lower, then you’re suffering from hypotension. Plus, when blood pressure is extremely low, it could lead to an inadequate flow of blood to organs like the heart, brain and kidneys.
This condition could be as a result of issues like pregnancy, neurological conditions, dehydration, endocrine disorders, prolonged bed rest, heart issues, nutritional deficiencies and a decrease in blood volume.
Certain medications like alpha and beta blockers, antidepressants, diuretics and others could also lead to low blood pressure.
When dealing with low blood pressure, it is often suggested to increase your salt and fluid intake. However, you should check with your doctor before increasing your salt intake. Also cut down on alcoholic beverages and high-carbonate foods such as bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, etc.
The proper treatment to adopt depends on the exact cause but you could try out a few simple home remedies to alleviate symptoms.
Here are the top 10 home remedies for low blood pressure.

As an alternative, you could also take about 500mg of licorice root capsules for a few days.
