Women in general and even some men are uncomfortable with dark skin in some part of their body, most people likes it when every part of their body is even but however, we find dark patches in some areas of our skin like the elbows, knees, knuckles and underarm and it becomes embarrassing when you want to put on something short or revealing those parts. There are different methods in which one can get rid of these dark coloration on areas not wanted like the elbows and knees which this post is all about. Read on!

Step 1

You will need the following ingredients for this step:

  1. Honey
  2. Olive oil
  3. Juice of lemon
  4. Baking soda

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and apply to your knee and elbow and leave overnight then wash off the next morning and dry with a clean cloth. Apply coconut oil to the areas after wiping with a clean cloth. Repeat this procedure for 2 weeks and you would see the difference. All ingredients used are natural, readily available and so cheap.

Step 2

Lemon and Orange peels– The peels of fruits are very good at lightening dark patches in areas we don’t want them. Lemon and orange peels are best for lightening dark areas in our skin.

Get some lemon or orange peels, sundry if moist and then grind into powders. Mix the peels with honey and apply on the elbows and knees. Leave for 15 minutes and wash off. This method helps in removing deal cells and impurities around those areas.

Step 3

  1. Sugar
  2. Rice powder
  3. Honey

This is a very good exfoliating scrub and the skin needs a very good exfoliating scrub especially the knees and elbows because dead cells accumulate more in those areas and that is the reason for the dark patches in those areas.mix all ingredients together and apply in a circular manner to the elbows and knees, Do this every day before taking your bath.

Step 4

Besan Flour and Tomato juice

Besan flour is a very good exfoliating agent and it is use in skin cleansing. It makes the skin lighter and improves it makes the skin smooth. Mix Besan and tomato juice to form a paste. This mixture should be apply when cold so mixture should be kept in the refrigerator before use, say for 10-15 minutes before application. Apply on affected areas and wash off with water.

Step 5

Cucumber and Lemon juice– Cucumber contains vitamin A and C which helps in keeping the skin radiant and protects the skin from ultra violet (UV) ray. Mix cucumber juice and lemon juice and apply to the elbows and knees, leave for 15 minutes and wash off. This is one of the most efficient methods in getting rid of dark elbows and knees.

Step 6

Chilled aloe Vera gel and Rose water-Get some Aloe Vera gel say 2 teaspoon and mix with a few drops of Rose water. Keep in the refrigerator after mixing thoroughly and when it cold and apply on your knees and elbows. This mix lightens the dark patches and softens also.

Step 7

Aloe Vera gel, Olive oil and Lemon juice– mix all 3 ingredients together and apply on affected areas, this should be done daily and you will see a noticeable difference on your skin.

There are other ingredients one can use in lightening dark elbows and knees be it organic or inorganic, there are serums, lotions and creams that are manufactured to lighten those areas but the beauty with using organic ingredients aside their availability is that you get to do it yourself and there is this confidence you have that it would work and there is the risk of having skin cancer.
