Activated Charcoal Homemade Peel-Off Mask

Activated charcoal is often used as an ingredient in commercial peel-off masks. It is useful for its binding properties. It binds with toxins, particles and impurities on the skin, thus helping get rid of the dirt, toxins or sebum from the skin pores.
In this mask, you would need gelatin as an ingredient to get the mask sticky enough.

Here’s what you should do:

• Get half a teaspoon of both gelatin and activated charcoal.
• Mix them up together in a clean bowl
• Add one tablespoon of distilled water
• Mix the ingredients thoroughly until you get a sticky consistency that is paste-like
• Voila! Your activated charcoal peel-off mask is ready.
• Be sure to wash your face and get rid of dirt and oil before using the face mask.

Orange Homemade Peel-Off Mask

Oranges have a high antioxidant content. These antioxidants are responsible for combating against the damaging effects of free radicals, thus protecting the skin from aging, wrinkling and fine lines. It also adds a brightness to your skin, rejuvenating and reviving the skin

Here’s what you should do:

• Start by pouring four tablespoons of fresh orange juice in a bowl that is heat-resistant.
• To the juice in the bowl, add two tablespoons of unflavoured gelatin powder
• Get the gelatin powder to dissolve by taking the bowl and placing it in a double boiler while continuously stirring.
• Take the mixture from the heat and let it cool down
• Your orange peel-off mask is ready for use.

Egg White Homemade Peel-Off Mask

Eggwhites are naturally sticky and make a good base for a homemade peel-off mask. They help to shrink large pores, protect the skin from whiteheads and blackheads and tighten the skin. They also come in handy for getting rid of facial hair

Here’s what you should do:

• Start by thoroughly whisking the egg white from one egg in a bowl.
• Then apply one or two coats of the foamy egg white mixture on your face.
• Next, using small tissue paper pieces, cover up your entire face
• Then over the tissue paper, finish up with a layer of whisked egg white.
• Let the mask dry completely
• Then gently peel the mask off (against the hair growth direction if you’re getting rid of facial hairs).
• Rinse your face up with lukewarm water

Gelatin Homemade Peel-Off Mask

Gelatin has a sticky nature. This makes it work well for a homemade peel-off mask. It also helps unclog pores, tighten the pores, reversing and slowing the signs of aging by getting rid of or preventing fine lines and wrinkles.

Here’s what you should do:

• Mix one tablespoon of the unflavoured gelatin, a few drops of lavender and one and half tablespoons of milk together in a bowl
• Using a double boiler, heat the mixture up.
• Get the bowl out of the heat afterwards and let it cool down
• The gelatin peel-off mask is ready for use

How to Use a Peel-Off Mask

Same way the right ingredients are important in peel-off masks, using the mask in the appropriate manner is important if you’re going to get expected results.
Here are a few steps in the right direction :
• Cleanse your face with an astringent or rose water, then rinse it with cool water.
• Steam your face for 5 minutes to help open the pores, then gently pat dry the skin with a soft towel.
• Apply the homemade peel-off mask generously and evenly all over your face. Make sure it does not get into your mouth, eyebrows or eyes
• Let the mask dry for thirty minutes
• Once it’s dry, start peeling the layers off making sure you’re doing it against the direction of your hair growth.
• Wash your face with warm water to remove the remaining mask.
• Finally, rinse your face with cold water to close the opened pores.
• Pat dry your face with a clean cloth or towel and apply a light moisturizer.

Things to take note of

• Before using a peel-off mask, we suggest that you tie your hair back so it doesn’t get stuck in the mask.
• Always use a brush to apply the mask because it may be too messy to use your fingers (if messy is exactly what you love, then no pressures)
• After applying the mask, don’t talk or move your head. Try to sit still and watch television or read a book.
• Do not rub your skin while removing the mask, if it doesn’t come off in one layer. Just keeping peeling off the layers.
• Do not use peel-off masks daily. Use them only once or twice a week.
