The outer layer of your skin, the epidermis, is responsible for protecting you from pathogens. It also cools you up in the heat and provides warmth when it’s cold.
It is also because of your skin that you will sometimes know that something is wrong. The usual signs are dry skin, acne, rashes, moles, bruising, sores, psoriasis, eczema, etc.
As a result, sometimes your skin will get irritated, inflamed and red. With these DIY face masks, however, you can minimize this and protect your delicate skin.

Before Applying Masks

Right before applying a mask, it’s important that your skin is clean and your open. You can either do this by using steam or taking a bath.

If you’re going to use steam instead, here’s what to do :

• Start by boiling a pot of water
• When the water is boiled, transfer it to a large bowl and allow it to cool down for at least two minutes.
• When the water has cooled a bit, place your head over it and cover your head and bowl using a towel. Stay that way for ten minutes.
When your pores are open, you can go ahead with any face mask of your choice.

How to Clean Your Skin From the Inside

1. Drink Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

Apple cider vinegar has been used for a long time as a lot of purposes. Some of them include :fighting cancer, boosting immunity, stimulating and encouraging weight loss, reducing bad cholesterol, reducing the risk of stroke and heart disease, clearing acne and keeping the blood sugar level balanced.
Apple cider vinegar also inhibits the thriving of bacteria and fungus in the digestive tract. This is an important ability as our immune system is literally eight percent gastrointestinal system.

How to prepare ACV for drinking :

• Mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water.
• You can add a wedge of lemon, a dash of celyon cinnamon powder and raw organic honey to the mixture.
• Drink the liquid thrice a day and watch how it clears your skin and makes it smoother.

Take Probiotics

Probiotics basically create a friendly environment for the good bacteria in our system. This is important as the presence of good bacteria in our system keeps the harmful ones away. Without good bacteria, we would become susceptible to diseases, infections and cancers.
It is the good bacteria that make up part of our immune system. These bacteria prevent pathogens from invading our system making us sick.
They also help improve digestion, make sure our pH levels are balanced, synthesize vitamin K and prevent constipation.
In a bid to get rid of bad bacteria, sometimes we may end up wiping out the entire bacteria community in our system. Some of the ways this happens is through surgeries, diarrhoea (flushes out both good and bad bacteria together), antibiotics, too much fiber, deficiency in protein and colon cleanses.

Method:

To preserve your immune system, take foods that contain Probiotics. They include unflavoured yoghurt, water or milk Kefir, sauerkraut, fermented foods, Kombucha drinks.
You can also find quality probiotic capsules at your local health and food store online.

Other Things to Keep in Mind

What you eat has a huge effect on your skin. We suggest you stay away from processed food as they are stacked with toxins, gluten, chemicals, toxins, genetically modified and contain monosodium glutamate.

2. Clean Your Pillowcase And Sheets

This is important as dead skin cells, daily pollutants and oils accumulate on your beddings. If your skin keeps coming in contact with the bedding, it could get irritated and clog up your pores.

3. Don’t Pick At Your Face

This is an unhealthy habit that can case the infection on your face to spread. It may also lead to dark spots and scarring.
